Meet Forecast, The Web-Based Weather App From The Dark Sky Team

Forecast – As viewed on iPhone

We don’t often discuss Web-based apps here at AppAdvice. However, when something amazing arrives, we can’t help but spread the word. Case in point is the new Forecast app, which launched earlier this week by the folks that created the native Dark Sky app for iOS.

Forecast is one of those apps that just works. Best of all, it works no matter the device, whether it be through a Web browser, or mobile device. The app’s most impressive feature is its precipitation map, which can be viewed locally, regionally, or globally.

As you scroll down, Forecast provides an amazingly detailed seven-day outlook. It is from here that you can explore conditions by time of day, sunrise/sunset, as well as high and low temperatures.

Don’t have time to thoroughly analyze your local forecast? No problem, as the app includes a nice brief of current, and upcoming conditions. These include forecasts for right now, the next hour, the next 24 hours, and the next week. As an added bonus, it is from this location that Forecast includes current wind, humidity, visibility, and pressure readings.

Finally, be sure to check out Forecast’s Time Machine feature. Use it to see what the weather was like in any location in a date in the past. How cool is that?
Forecast is really nice. Better still, it is absolutely free. To take a look, visit the site using any device. Also be sure to check out the Dark Sky, which is available in the App Store.
