The OG Samsung Galaxy Grand and its sequel, the Samsung Galaxy Grand 2 , might soon have a new device in between. The Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite (GT-I9060) is on the way and a published report has the device landing at MWC 2014 in Barcelona next February. The handset is said to be a cross between the Galaxy Grand and the Grand 2, and will be equipped with a 5 inch screen carrying resolution of 480 x 800. Powered by a quad-core 1.2GHz processor, the Galaxy Grand Lite will include 1GB of RAM, 8GB of native storage (which can be expanded using the microSD slot) and a 2100mAh battery.

The unit is said to feature a 5MP snapper in back with a .3MP camera in front. According to a source in the loop, Android 4.3 could be installed out of the box and it would be a surprise if the phone did not support dual SIM cards. This model is intended for the markets like China and India where they eat up that sort of thing.

We expect to see the Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite in white, orange, Midnight Black and Lime Green in early February, just a couple of weeks before MWC 2014. While the report didn't leave any clues about pricing, we would expect Samsung to employ the Goldilocks method to pricing a device. With this method, the phone is not priced too low as to brand it a cheap phone, but not too high that it would be considered an expensive high-end model. Using the Goldilocks technique, the phone gets priced "just right".
