How Often do You Perform a Clean Install of Your OS?

Media_httpimggawkeras_hlblv

Even though you don't need to do it as often with modern operating systems, there's still something about starting fresh that feels good. How often do you do a clean install of your OS?

A clean install is one in which you back up your files, reformat your hard drive, reinstall your OS and applications, and then restore your backed up files. To be fair, it seems something that Windows users worry more about than users of other systems. Even on Windows, though, a regular reinstall probably isn't necessary and it can take a fair bit of time—even if you take steps to make it go smoother. Still, a clean install does have its advantages and, let's be honest, it feels kind of good.
