Before working under the current head of iOS and OS X, Craig Federighi, Lamiraux called Scott Forstall boss. He started at Apple as a Mac software engineer and was moved to iOS in 2005. While at Apple, he was one of the few engineers remaining who had worked on the iPhone project from the beginning.
Appearing in videos at WWDC, and through various chats, Lamiraux became known to many of the developers writing apps for the App Store. In 2012, he gave the keynote address for developers at the annual conference. Without Lamiraux, iOS 8 is already being worked on and is rumored to include new features for the Apple Maps app among other various improvements.
